On The Record - Oct '06 Edition

There have been many changes at Electrodata in the last couple of months. Firstly, we have a new Managing Director – Mark Player. Mark has great plans for Electrodata’s future.

There have been other staff changes also. Chris McLean has joined us to further progress our export expansion plans and Karl Wildermoth has been promoted into a full sales role.

Our Melbourne office is moving to new premises and a service technician will be relocating there to better service our southern customers.

We have recently launched a new standard feature on our Advantage recorder product to capture two-way radio identification tones. This allows for easier searching of recordings. Many mining companies are implementing this function into their existing Electrodata voice recorders.

Look out for the revitalised Electrodata. Please contact any of the Sales team below with your recording requirements or questions.

Major Mining Company chooses Electrodata “Cell Call” equipped recorders

A Major Mining Company has recently upgraded their existing Electrodata recording equipment to the latest ANI equipped recorders. Matt Kay at the Goonyella coal operation has said that the Electrodata recorders have big benefits due to the “Cell Call” (ANI) being captured and displayed as part of the call data for fast & easy retrieval of their radio communications.

“Electrodata have finalised development for us on what we call a cell call decoder (or ANI), so we can identify the transmitter or the participants in a conversation by the unique ID that’s transmitted by the handset or radio set that’s initiated the conversation,” Matt said.

“That was new to the mining industry and that in itself has some fairly big benefits. Every time there’s a broadcast, the ANI is broadcast with it and that’s embedded in the recording,” Matt continued.
