Is it legal to record telephone conversations? |
|
Most countries have privacy laws that make it illegal to record from telephone lines without the knowledge of at least one party on the line. Electrodata recommends that users obtain a legal opinion of the regulations for their particular country. It is common in Australia for call centres to inform their inbound customers that calls are recorded but usually not when outbound calls are made. If you are located in Australia feel free to contact us for a copy of our white paper on the legalities of recording locally.
