Major mining company chooses Electrodata "Cell Call" equipped recorders Print
Monday, 25 September 2006
A Major Mining Company has recently upgraded their existing Electrodata recording equipment to the latest ANI equipped recorders. Matt Kay at the Goonyella coal operation has said that the Electrodata recorders have big benefits due to the “Cell Call” (ANI) being captured and displayed as part of the call data for fast & easy retrieval of their radio communications.

“Electrodata have finalised development for us on what we call a cell call decoder (or ANI), so we can identify the transmitter or the participants in a conversation by the unique ID that’s transmitted by the handset or radio set that’s initiated the conversation,” Matt said.

“That was new to the mining industry and that in itself has some fairly big benefits. Every time there’s a broadcast, the ANI is broadcast with it and that’s embedded in the recording,” Matt continued.
