Electrodata attends Two-way Radio Trade Show Print

We recently had one of our most successful shows ever when we exhibited at a two-way radio trade show in Melbourne recently.  Our presence at this show confirmed our commitment to the two-radio market where transmissions can often be for emergency purposes where lives could be in peril.

On display at our booth were our latest GT WebPlayer and GT ScenarioPlayer products.  GT ScenarioPlayer is ideal for making secure discs of multichannel incidents where replay is needed in courts and tribunals.  The new WebPlayer allows replay anywhere there is an Internet connection.  This latest model adds more functionality and a cleaner screen appearance to our traditional WebPlayer client. Both products are due for release in early 2010.

Electrodata goes Green Print

As a major step in reducing its carbon footprint, the company has recently converted to 100% renewable electrical energy from wind farms and hydro sources. Electrodata's Chairman, Stan Baker, believes that global warming is a serious challenge for everyone and that we all need to contribute to a solution. Stan drives a Toyota Prius hybrid car and during the year has been working with the University of Technology, Sydney to increase the Prius’ battery size and make it chargeable form the mains overnight. As a consequence, he is achieving 2.2 litres/100 Kms and fills up with petrol once every two months.

Electrodata Appearing at APCO Australia. Print

The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) is a world wide organisation that brings together engineers, technicians and operators on public safety matters.  The local branch of the organisation, APCO Australia and New Zealand is holding its annual conference and exhibition on March 1-4 at the Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh, Sydney, NSW.

The public safety market is of major interest to Electrodata and next March we will be exhibiting at APCO for the first time.  A wide range of recorder s will be on display including a glimpse at our next-generation models. A paper is expected to be presented by our Chairman, Dr Stan Baker, comparing the differing approaches to communications recording practiced by the various state emergency departments in the country.

For those interested, please visit the local APCO web site at http://www.apcoaust.com.au and register.  We look forward to meeting with you at the show.

ESTA expands Electrodata Voice recording platform Print

ESTA (Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority) provides the first point of contact for the Victorian Public to Victorian Emergency Services Organisations via the triple zero service along with emergency communications services to the ESO (Emergency services organisations). These mission critical services include responsibility for handling triple zero calls and providing and managing operational communications for the despatch of police, fire, ambulance and State Emergency Services in Victoria.

ESTA is a 24/7 operation with over 490 emergency operational and support office staff. ESTA provides services to 5 million Victorians and operates three State Emergency Communications Centres (SECCs), two in Melbourne and one in Ballarat. The three SECCs are designed to support and provide redundancy for each other.

ESTA’s current voice recording technology (Electrodata) was commissioned in 3 stages back in 2003. As their clients need increased ESTA deployed a further suite of voice recorders to address the MMR (Metropolitan Mobile Radio) application for VIC Police. This expansion was integrated into the existing CAD system.

VIC Police use radio - to - radio and radio - to - despatch console, all these voice interactions are captured on the Electrodata voice recording system. ESTA then facilitates despatch of police to incidents. The prime purpose is to maintain records of conversations for submission in courts of law, training, reviewing incidents and additional determining factors that affects the final outcomes. With call centre locations in the City, Surburbia and Ballarat ESTA has approximately 1500 connected ports to ensure this mission critical application works 24/7.

On the latest ESTA expansion, Mr. Rocco Debonis (Senior Project Manager) who drove the project stated;

“Our interactions and deployment with Electrodata were smooth, the system was easy to expand and the provision of their technical expertise together with our technical staff made the project deliverable in time and on budget for our client”
